Speed painting week.
Thanks to the nice sunny week I have been super busy painting. This week I have done
15 plague marines (no pictures yet)

Worst intro ever! / Having fun with friends.
Yesterday me and Allen decided to show our ladies how to play 40k. So did we pick out 2 vanilla squads to demonstrate or maybe the starter set?
NO WE PLAYED 3000P PER SIDE WITH 4 DIFFERENT RACES, PSYCKERS, FLYER'S, DEEP STRIKE, TANKS, BIKES, WALKERS, EVERYTHING IN!
THAT WILL EASILY INTRODUCE THEM TO THE GAME!
Also their washing mashine flooded the kitchen and needed fixing
The dog kept getting under our feet
and the imperial guard belong to Allen's 8 year old son.
Still it was great fun rolling some dice with some friends and some good laughs.
I think our flaw was somehow combining in our minds; a friendly mega battle with people that now the stats lines by heart and introducing the game to two ladies.
Game wise my assault squad and sternguard took out 3 units, (wraith lord, scorpions and some other eldar unit) and also took 2 turns of shooting from more than half the enemy battle force, the assault squad and my captain died but still the sternguard were still on the table.
5 terminators rapped 10 berserkers in one turn. The game stopped with the terminators next to a unit of eldar dragons and a special charachter, so we rolled to see what whould happen,
I lose a stormshield in the shooting phase, lose none in combat.
claws kills 2, the 6 hammer attacks hit 3 then I roll 1,1,1 to wound.
I do not want that to happen again to me, so by paying 10p extra I can replace my termie captain for Vulkan
and change the lasscannon in the tactical for a melta.

6th edition and Firehawks.
I played another 2 games last night of 40k with my fire hawks, both opponents concided by turn 4.
My opponents were trying out lists and are not the best players either, even though i am 5-0 I have yet to play a good player. A bit like Rocky 3 with his fixed games.
I can realy feen the effect of the force weapons against my terminators, I was thinking of using spears in a grey knigt army but not anymore (or atleast not against terminators), there are not enough attacks to take away a big chuck of my terminators before they hammer them to the ground.
My list has no answer against flyers, luckly only one player had a flyer, a storm raven which I ignored, it imobilized my LR turn 2 and then turn 3 it got destroyed by a dreadnought in cc. Then again if I have to face 2 stromravens thats about 1/3 of his army in 1500p. Dont now about other armies, I would like to add a mortis contemptor but what do I take out?

Also for 10 points extra I could give my army Hestan instead of my captain.
Last night I played against grey knights and Ig tank list.
In game one the sternguard came down and killed 8 interceptors
second game they blew up a tank and took the entire shooting phase of the ig turn 2. still one of them survived.
I cant complain for any of my elite and fast choises. They all did very good.
Favorite Cinematic scene 1#: drop pod land's, tactical come out and lascannon snapshots a interceptor.
Favorite Cinematic scene 2#: Bikes make a melta shot at grey knight dread, it explodes and kills 2 grey knight terminators.
Worst shooter in my army: Marine on LR holding the multimelta, I think he failed every shot he made Maybe thats his way of saying: "I have stayed in the basecoat stage for 10 months". I hear you little man...
Sternguard about to feel the wrath of a demolisher.
1000+1 projects Wolf Shaman
This is a Fantasy shaman I painted. Its more of a display piece, with no real purpose, I will add one day the 4 forgeworld skin wolfs I have to him.
The helmet is actualy a spase wolf thunder hammer cut up and emptied (and some greens stuff added),
the head is also from a space wolf, normaly a space wolf head on a empire model looks rediculus but this amber wizard is quite big. the wip is just green stuff.
On the cape I tried doing some tribal and also added a space wolf transfer.
Most of the model is using muted colours greys and browns going on to bleach bone and then i added my favorite colours blue and turquaz on the helmet. Helps you focus on the face too. Hope you like it.

Nurgle orks part 2.
Good morning all,
I have been quite exited about this new army, I also did a change in the list.
It all started when I realized I was a few points over with the terminators. Also carrying a combi melta and a scythe is quite hard. So I removed them from the list thought they may be back, i like the idea of waiting for the terminators to appear and rolling for them.
I took out the special character grotsnik and replayced him with a warboss which is cheaper and makes the meganobs troops.
I added a blight drone, its already ordered. That and a demon prince and a rhino from ebay.
Three of the five Meganobs are almost done the other 2 are put together but need some green stuff sesions.
I made them gorila like with nurgle infenstations, Even though meganobs they are not wearing much armor, I wanted them primal, I imagine bolter shoots just sink into their body or just remove loads of roting flesh. I did give them twin linked shootas to avoid confusion, for a power claw I used minotaurs fists, the torso was from a plastic savage boar boy and then I build it up with mucle reaching a warboss in size. The arms are either nobs, ogre or minotaur.
So up to know my list looks like this

New 40k edition New army.
Hello all,
New 40k edition
I have had a brief look at the rules and played 3 games last saturday with my fire hawks.
My 5 terminators & Captain managed to kill 15 terminators and Belial.
My thoughts on the new edition are all positive, as all changes feel realistic.
There were initialy fears for a psychic phase and with premasuring they were going to make 40k into a fantasy with laserguns edition, but that is not the case.
I have yet to play against a psycher or flyers and 3 games does not make me an expert.
But I feel that it is not as random as fantasy is with magic.
I think the things that make the game more stratigic is
Ground vehicles seem easier to destroy cause of hull points, I was going to say its because of the +2 and +1 on the damage table from ap1 and ap2 guns but that is not the case because the chart has changed also 5 is immobilized and 6 is wrecked. On the other hand hammers, fists and chainfists benefit from that rule too. I dont think I will be changing my melta guns for anything else quite yet.
I also like the kill the closest rule.
Another favorite of mine is the army allies.
Finaly tournament legal fluff armies (and not) combinations. A real joy for a modeler and painter and gamer.
Actually my next army is a combination but more of that later.

Word bearers + demons
Chaos marines with IG. Good chance for a tournament legal astral claws list.
Preheresy death guard with sisters, flight of Eisenstein
Space marine alliences
Some pirate theme orks and dark eldar
Eldar (Mandrakes) and demons.
Ig cultists and demons.
Lost space wolfs in the warp with demons.
Tau hiring orks insted of kroot as mercs.
Nightlords(space wolf codex) with red corsairs (chaos marine codex) from the book blood reaver
I am sure there are many more.
Now in any way GW made a rulebook there will be players that abuse the rules what so ever. Maybe i am a silly romantic but I will accept any combination as long as you can present it and sell it to me. "here is my zenophobe black templars allied with tau broadsides". or here is "captain tycho allied with some ork hordes" is not going to make the cut for me.
And there is the 2000+ point games were you get anothe force organization chart so you can spam *6, hopefully 2000p will be in fun relaxed games so no worries there.

Initially my plan finish the non flying orks (tank bustas, boys, deff dread)
Then Chaos codex comes out continue nightlords
Then when dark angels come out do Greek marines.
So I started building my tank bustas( which are almost green stuff completed) then something old awaken inside me an old desire for nurgle orks while looking at the allies chart.
Another contributing factor is that i already own most of the models and a good chance to paint 2-3 nice models I dont own without breaking the bank.
So the list is built in mind of what I own / think will look pretty /fun to play.
Death guard/Nurgle orks 1500p
Only thing I needed to buy for the army was the demon prince, the plague hulk defiler and the rhino a total of £100.
Death gueard is built, obliterators are built too, the 10 greachin are painted I am thinking of adding a plague bearer as the hearder.
I am currently building the mega nobs, they are the size of a warboss but without armor pure mussle and rot.
I have modeled them with twin linked shoters but used minotaur fists instead of power claws photos later today hopefully.
So what is your new army for 6th edition?

- placing your troops correctly
- Passing out the wound pools in the correct order
- list creation

Back from Diablo and my holidays
Yes this blog is still alive,
I am back after Diablo3 and my holidays.
6th edition has rekindled my hobby mojo, and I am hopping to paint 2-3 armies this year.
Holidays in Crete were great, lots of sun sea rest and great food. Went for 2 week, which is not to short but not too long either. First week some friends of mine came along so I showed them around my homeland.
I also got engaged which makes me happy.
I am officialy bored of Diablo3 and I dont know why, is it cause I am 9 years older? I stilled played D2 last year.
The graphics are great, the auction houce does not affect me, what is it? I just cant see my self doing the same thing again and again. I am going to let it go and try guild wars2.
Next post (today) hobby related.
